McGuigan Settles Into Leicester Fold Easily

The new hooker of the Leicester Tigers, George McGuigan, has settled into the team easily. He came to the Tigers gang from the Newcastle Falcons rugby team before the start of this season.

He has played in three Aviva Premiership games till now. His first start was against his former team Falcons. The Tigers beat the Falcons by 14-13 points and McGuigan made his debut for the Leicester team in the second half replacing Tom Youngs.

McGuigan is happy to be spending some valuable time with Tom Youngs, the England and British & Irish Lions front rower. He has been advising McGuigan about his job in the team and what his roles for the team are. McGuigan considers Tom Youngs as his role model and is looking forward to give his best shot for the rugby club.

Even though Leicester earned 4 points from the game against the Falcons, they feel that there is still more to be done in order to hit the peak form and to maintain it. McGuigan said that the dressing room was not happy with the way the team had performed against Newcastle. There is a lot more expected of every member of the team and the players have understood what the rugby union is looking for.

The Tigers have shown very good character in the Aviva Premiership games that they have played this season. They rallied from behind to upset Gloucester in a thrilling game and then kept the Falcons at bay in the last 10 minutes to prevent the Falcons from snatching a victory from them. A lot of action happened at their goal line towards the end and it looked like the Tigers were under a lot of pressure at the fag end of the game. McGuigan said that the team is intending to stay in the top half of the table right through.
