Sam Harrison, the scrum half for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club and the defending champions the Leicester Tigers, believes that the club’s strong core of home grown talent will be influential as the club hunts for more success in the future.

The 23 year old is among one of those players that came through the club’s famed academy and is a player who was born and brought up in the county and Harrison definitely knows what he is talking about.

Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club and record winners of the title the Leicester Tigers will be going into the final of this season’s edition, looking to secure their ninth Premiership title with virtually their full strength squad.

According to Richard Cockerill, the Director of Rugby of the club, the club’s two recent injury scares, lock forward Ed Slater and winger Adam Thompstone are looking very good and have a very good chance of being fully fit for the local derby in the final against heated rivals the Northampton Saints.

Leicester Tigers sign Scarlets’ fly half Williams

Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the Leicester Tigers have completed a deal to bring talented flay half Owen Williams from the Welsh side Scarlets to Welford Road at the end of the season continuing their spree of signing young players with high potential.

The 21 year old, who has made seven first team appearances for the Welsh club this season, is in the final year of his development contract with the club and with his parent club not opening negotiations over a professional contract, he was free to move anywhere and he has chosen Welford Road.

Anthony Allen will be making his return to the Leicester Tigers lineup ahead of the team’s crucial encounter against Italian giants Treviso in the Heineken Cup in Italy on Saturday.

The centre missed his side’s 33-25 victory over the heavyweight Italian side after he was stretchered off following an extremely harsh challenge by Matt Banahan of Bath Rugby in their 17-12 victory in an Aviva Premiership encounter on the 1st of December and had not trained for sometime before returning to training in midweek for the record Premiership champions.

Murphy to Retire at the End of the Season

Geordan Murphy, the former full back for the Ireland Rugby Team and the current captain of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Union side the Leicester Tigers has revealed that this current season of the Aviva Premiership will be his last as a player as he plans to hang up his boots at the end of the season. Leicester Make New Signings

Leicester Tigers have roped in Richard Thorpe, the flanker from rival club London Irish. The 27 year old player has already started training with Leicester and looks ready to start the season for them. His former club and Leicester’s rivals, London Irish, will be paying a part of the player’s wages during the first season.

Richard Cockerill commented saying that he will be an extremely cost effective player for them. He said that Thorpe is a great player and has had a lot of experience in the premiership which will ensure that he get a slot almost immediately.
