Anthony Allen back for Leicester Tigers

Anthony Allen will be making his return to the Leicester Tigers lineup ahead of the team’s crucial encounter against Italian giants Treviso in the Heineken Cup in Italy on Saturday.

The centre missed his side’s 33-25 victory over the heavyweight Italian side after he was stretchered off following an extremely harsh challenge by Matt Banahan of Bath Rugby in their 17-12 victory in an Aviva Premiership encounter on the 1st of December and had not trained for sometime before returning to training in midweek for the record Premiership champions.

Allen will partner England international Manu Tuilagi at the centre of the park in order to shore up a fragile defense for the side as they hope to shut Treviso off, in a situation where the match has become a must win encounter for the Leicester Tigers as they look to maintain their pressure on the pool leading French side Toulouse. Dan Bowden, who started the match against the Italian side last weekend in place of Allen has been named in the squad for The Tigers for this weekend’s match.

The side will have further changes in the back as Director of Rugby Richard Cockerill wants to play both Adam Thompstone and Niall Morris on the two wings for the match while England international prop Dan Cole will be handed his first start since he returned to the side after playing in the autumn internationals for Stuart Lancaster’s men.

Louis Deacon, who has been passed fit to play in the match, will return to the second row having been forced to sit out of last weekend’s match at Welford Road. He will take his place alongside Geoff Parling who will again lead the side for the match as the Leicester Tigers look to seal off a historic win for the team.
